Your shop

Orders, sending things, and refunds

What to do when somebody buys something.

The moment somebody pays, three things happen: the order appears under Shop, then Orders; the buyer gets a receipt; and you get an email. Stock comes down at the same moment, so two people cannot buy the last one.

  1. Open the orderIt shows what was bought, what it cost, where it is going and anything they wrote.
  2. Send itFill in the carrier and the tracking number and press “Mark as sent”. That emails the buyer, with a tracking link if you gave one.
  3. Mark it deliveredOptional, and useful if you want the record.

That is fine for one or two. For a morning's worth there is a faster way on the same screen — see Posting a batch, below.

Posting a batch — Tick the orders, get one file for your courier, bring the tracking numbers back in one go.

Refunds are on the same page. Enter an amount, or leave it as it is for the whole thing, choose whether to put the items back into stock, and press Refund. It goes back on the customer's card through your own Stripe account, usually within five to ten working days, and they get a letter telling them so.
