Editing your website

Photographs, and the description every one needs

Uploading, choosing well, and why every picture needs a description.

Photos, on your site's page, is your library. Upload once and use the same picture anywhere.

  • Good: “A baker sliding a tray of sourdough into a stone oven.”
  • Useless: “image1”, “photo”, “bakery bakery bread bakery”.
  • Decorative pattern with no information in it? Say what it is anyway, briefly.

On choosing: your own photographs of your own place beat stock every time, even when they are less polished. People can tell. And never upload a picture whose licence you cannot point to — a stock photo agency's invoice is a thing they do send.
